Melody Patterson’s death was announced by her “F-Troop” co-star Larry Storch:
“It’s with a heavy heart that we can let you know our beloved Wrangler Jane, Melody Patterson passed away today. Our hearts are sad today. RIP Sweet Melody. We love you,” Storch’s message said on his Facebook page.
Melody Patterson was only 15 years old when she first appeared on “F Troop,” and initially she was only a minor actress on the show. Until her casting, it was pretty much a boys’ club.
“Her first day on set the 'suits' as Larry recalls them (the higher ups at Warner Bros) came down and said ‘alright boys. We have a new girl with us, shes only a child, so no more four letter words!’ Larry was shocked she was so young but also very impressed at how she always handled herself around 'the boys'.”
On Saturday, Larry Storch shared that Melody’s husband Vern Miller, is “broken up,” as is the whole cast of “F Troop.” As for now, Patterson’s husband is still trying to deal with his loss. In due time, he intends to release an official statement about his wife’s death.
Melody Patterson died on Thursday in a nursing home after multiple organ failure, reports Variety. Larry Storch, however, has not commented on any details about his co-star’s death.
