School Offers $500 Gift Cards for Students to Live Off Campus, Confronted with a lack of on-grounds understudy lodging this fall, Washington, D.C.-based American University is putting forth a motivating force to understudies to go get some place else to live.

Understudies who consent to leave their lodging assignments will be given a $500 blessing card, ABC station WJLA-TV reported. Likewise, American University would waive the $500 lodging end expense to the understudies who plan to wipe out their on-grounds lodging this fall.

The understudies were told of the offer via email in ahead of schedule June, and the due date was this past Thursday, as indicated by American University understudy paper The Eagle.

The lodging lack is faulted for an increment in the quantity of returning and new understudies, Sasha Gamburg, the right hand executive of operations for assignments and eating, told The Eagle. "As a result of the expanded interest for lodging, we were not ready to oblige all understudies looking for lodging," she said.

Sarah Preston, a senior, didn't nibble on the offer and said she would plan to stay in her appointed quarters. She and different understudies said it would be hard to discover sensibly evaluated lodging outside of grounds this time.
