Ultimate Survival Alaska Jimmy Gojdics Shot: State Troopers Investigating Gojdics Homicide Case, Ultimate Survival Alaska’s Jimmy Gojdics was shot dead and now state troopers are investigating the case as a homicide, according to The Inquisitr. Officers responded to 69-year-old Jimmy Gojdics’ residence in Fox on Sunday to find the victim with gunshot wounds. So far there are no suspects.
Ultimate Survival Alaska allows extreme survivalists to compete in the wild. The reality star appeared last year on the second season, but “sustained an injury that made it impossible for his team to continue in the competition,” spokesman Chad Sandhas said.
“We were saddened to learn of Mr. Gaydos’s untimely passing and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time,” Sandhas wrote. Sandhas still can’t believe the Ultimate Survival Alaska member was shot.
Jimmy Gojdics was originally from upstate New York, and had many friends in the Fairbanks area, according to one of the friends, Janine Carlson, who knew him for 12 years. She still can’t believe he was shot.
“Everyone was his friend and he met someone everywhere,” she said.
After Ultimate Survival Alaska’s Jimmy Gojdics was shot dead, his remains have been sent to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy and an investigation by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation is ongoing, according to The Spreadit.
Gojdics sometimes spelled his last name Gaydos, the way it’s pronounced and the name he was known as in Ultimate Survival.
National Geographic Channel described Jimmy as a fisherman, horse wrangler, blacksmith, forest service firefighter, river guide and wilderness guide. Carlson said Gojdics loved to travel, and spent winters in South America as much as he could.
