Steph Curry's dad defends granddaughter's appearance at press conference

Steph Curry's dad defends granddaughter's appearance at press conference, The day after capturing the nation’s attention, 2-year-old Riley Curry had a problem.

She didn’t want to go to preschool.

Riley was riding in the car with her grandfather, Dell Curry, who was tasked with taking her to school after her big night. Did she have fun at the press conference?

“She had fun,” Curry confirmed after passing along the question.

One thing that could make her day a little better: her favorite Ariana Grande song, which she knows all the words to.

“She know songs she wants to hear,” Curry told For The Win. “She’ll tell me and know what song she wants to hear and sing right along. She has a big attitude and keeps you upbeat. Man, I tell you, she’s got a great attitude. As a grandparent, especially to have one that upbeat, it keeps your spirit alive.”

Curry didn’t see the problem with his granddaughter hanging out with her dad on the podium last night.

In response to Wednesday morning’s Twitter outrage over Riley adorably taking over the press conference, he had a pretty blunt response: “They’ll get over it,” he said. “He was still able to do his interview. She didn’t stop that at all.

“She’s was just waving to reporters. That’s just the way she is. She knows what’s happening. She knew she was on the stage and she knew people were talking to her daddy and she’s on his lap and she’s just like ‘Hey, how’s everybody?’ That’s just the way she is.”
