Sleeping Baggage Handler

Sleeping Baggage Handler, A baggage handler for an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Los Angeles thought he was a goner when he woke up from a cat nap stuck inside the cargo hold... as the plane was taking off.

"In my mind I said, 'This is not happening. This is just a joke,'" Willa Junior told ABC News.

Junior said he woke up on the April 13 flight when a piece of luggage fell on his head. He tried to call the company he works for -- Menzies Aviation -- but the call got disconnected. He managed to connect to 911, but that call was cut off, too. He eventually started banging on the ceiling to alert passengers and employees in the cabin above.

"I was yelling, 'Help me, somebody's down here,'" he told the network.

They did, and the flight returned to Seattle after 14 minutes in the air.

Junior still has his job as a ramp agent with Menzies Aviation, but he's banned from ever handling bags for an Alaskan flight again. He understands, apologizing for the problems he caused -- and he left us with an important message.

"Don't sleep on planes, or don't doze off on a plane," he said, "even though the job is hard, you know, stressful. Learn from my mistake."
