Covid-19: FG evacuates another 289 Nigerians stranded in US, As countries continue to battle with the coronavirus pandemic, the Nigerian government is doing all it can to bring back nationals stranded in other countries due to the lockdown.
No fewer than 289 Nigerians arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja on Wednesday, July 29. The evacuees were brought back from the United States.

Their arrival was announced by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) on its official Twitter handle.
According to the commission, this is the fourth evacuation flight from the US.
The flight which was reported to have departed from the US on Tuesday, July 28, had 135 males, 142 females and 12 infants on board.
The commission disclosed that arrangements are underway for additional two evacuation flights from the USA to Lagos on July 31 from Houston Texas and a combined flight to Abuja and Lagos on August 7, from Newark.
Before boarding the flight, all evacuees tested negative to COVID-19.
About 6,317 Nigerians have been successfully evacuated back to the country from different continents since the outbreak of the coronavirus, according to the federal government.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the NIDOCM, made this known on Tuesday, July 21, during a briefing in Abuja
Legit.ng had reported earlier that Nigerians who were stranded in the UK had been airlifted by a special flight arranged by the federal government.
They came in on Tuesday, July 14, through Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.
The federal government had through NIDCOM put out 3rd and 4th evacuation notices for stranded Nigerians in the US.
To that end, interested Nigerians who want to leave America will have to purchase a one-way ticket at the price of $1,250 (N485,112.50) for economy class and $2,800 (N1,086,652) for business class.
The government, therefore, directed that they must present a negative test result of coronavirus that is not older than 14 days from the time of departure and temperature will be checked hours before they are airlifted.
