Student Hanan Worku said she was aghast by the affair and the abridgement of acknowledgment from campus officials.

Kelsee Thomas, a affiliate of the atramentous apprentice union, said acceptance confronted fraternity associates at the party. A fraternity affiliate apologized, but laughed if he was asked to address a letter to the group, she said.

UCLA said it is investigating the affair and talking to students.

"While we do not yet accept all the facts, the declared behavior is inconsistent with acceptable acumen as able-bodied as our attempt of community," UCLA told KNBC-TV.

Sigma Phi Epsilon's civic appointment says the UCLA fraternity has briefly abeyant activities as it investigates the incident.

"Building assorted and across-the-board communities is amount to our character as an organization, and we accept aught altruism for racist behavior," the organization's spokesman, Beaux Carriere, said in a statement.
