Lamar’s failing kidneys have been one of his biggest health problems since he was hospitalized after an alleged overdose on Oct. 13. He’s reportedly been getting six hours of dialysis a day, and may need a transplant (sometime down the road) if that doesn’t do the trick. So, naturally, his fans have generously tweeted their offers to donate (see below), although some are hoping for a nice payout afterward.
Of course, it’s not as easy as just making an offer on Twitter. There are many qualifications a donor must meet before they can be considered a match — not to mention, they’d have to undergo a pretty major surgery if the transplant actually happened However, this step won’t come for quite some time, so hopefully the dialysis works before then.
The 35-year-old has many other obstacles to overcome on top of this, though. After undergoing two emergency surgeries on Oct. 21, Lamar is reportedly in a “fragile state of mind,” upset and emotional about everything that’s going on. The surgeries allegedly took place after the ex-Lakers star began having problems with his chest, although it’s still unclear whether the issue was connected to his lungs or his heart.
While Lamar is in this fragile state, doctors have banned all visitors from his room at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, except for his wife, Khloe Kardashian. The reality star has been by her man’s side since the moment he was rushed to the hospital, and decided to call off their divorce on Oct. 21. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Lamar feels Khloe’s love has helped keep him alive during this whole ordeal, so we hope she’s able to give him the encouragement to pull through once again.
