Tara Monroe Barbie Jeep, Getting a DWI is not something most people would advertise, but one Texas State student is making it her claim to fame.
Tara Monroe, 20, received a DWI recently for refusing to take a breathalyzer while leaving a concert. Her license was suspended and her father took away her car, giving her a bike.
This is where most people would just get on their bike and start pretending you gave up driving so you could get more exercise. But that wasn't good enough for Monroe.
Once her big girl car was taken away, she turned to Craigslist to find another ride she was legally able to drive. She settled on a $60 bright pink Barbie Jeep, and named it after the previous owner, a toddler named Charlene.
People started noticing Tara driving around the campus, albeit not very fast, since the Barbie jeep tops out at 5 mph.
But she's been popping up on people's Twitters, Snapchats, and now her stunt is going viral, giving Tara her 15 minutes of fame.
She seems to be loving the spotlight, saying this was the best decision she's made in college yet.
