Nationally Ranked HS Football Team Features 4-Foot-5 Senior Running Back

Nationally Ranked HS Football Team Features 4-Foot-5 Senior Running Back, Adam Reed is a sight to behold. The senior for nationally ranked American Heritage School doesn't make it onto the football field much, but when he does, everyone notices.

You could say it's for his blazing speed, but let's be serious: Reed gets attention for his size. In one of Florida's most competitive high school classes, and alongside blue-chip recruits, Reed is a varsity running back who stands just 4-foot-5.

That's 95 pounds of pain rumbling around end whenever he gets the ball.Reed's size might make him easy to dismiss, but let's be clear: He's no slouch. Even if he is the fifth-string tailback, he plays for one of the best varsity squads in the country. His teammates include the children of former NFL Pro Bowlers.

And while Reed might not be an every-down back, his speed and small size can be useful in changing up the pace and giving the opponent a different look.

"I'm a little undersized," Reed tells the Miami Herald. "But it's, whatever. I don't let my size stop me from doing anything."

The Herald also reports that there's no medical understanding of why Reed is so short. His growth seems to be stunted due to its inability to make use of growth hormones.

Nevertheless, Reed has managed a varsity spot and has become a fan favorite. How much he plays as a senior remains to be seen, but the senior said his goal is the same as everyone on the team: To play whatever role required, and win a state championship.
