Marshawn Lynch Mom, The Seattle Seahawks bungled a chance to win on the road in St. Louis Sunday, falling in overtime to the Rams 34-31 after running back Marshawn Lynch was stuffed on a fourth-and-1 play to end the game.
Faced with a situation reminiscent of the end of Super Bowl XLIX, the Seahawks actually gave Lynch the ball in a do-or-die situation and Lynch failed to deliver — but the blame is hardly on him. Rather than just call a standard running play, the Seahawks opted for a gimmicky draw, forcing Lynch to receive the ball four yards behind the line of scrimmage. The Rams’ defensive line got a better push, and the game was over.
After the game, Lynch’s mother Delisa defended her son in a Facebook rant and called for Seahawks “offense caller” — presumably offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell — to be fired.
