Most of the original cast members are slated to return, including Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Ethan Suplee, Shannen Doherty, Michael Rooker, Renee Humphrey, Joey Lauren Adams, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Scott Mosier, Bryan Johnson, Walt Flanagan, Brian O’Halloran, Claire Forlani, and, as himself, Stan “The Man” Lee. Smith will also be reprising his role as Silent Bob opposite Jason Mewes’ Jay. According to MovieWeb, Smith hopes Ben Affleck will appear in a cameo, but that hasn’t been confirmed due to his Batman commitment at Warner Bros.
Smith had originally anticipated May 2016 as being the goal for the start of production, but luckily they have landed the money and location earlier than they had expected.
“It’s half scripted right now and we’re pulling our loot together,” Smith said in March. “We’ve got up until the beginning of 2016. By the time we get to May 2016, we’re going to be shooting.”
A representative for PREIT, the company that owns the mall released a statement, saying they are excited that their mall will be the setting for a movie.
