Julie Chen The View

Julie Chen The View, That ship has sailed. No one can turn it around,” CBS talk show host says of conversation with legendary newscaster and creator of the ABC daytime series
Welcome back, “The View.” You’re over.

At least, that seems to be the opinion of Julie Chen, who weighed in on the fate of the ABC talk show during an interview on Howard Stern’s radio show.

Chen, a co-host on CBS’ rival daytime talk show “The Talk,” revealed to Stern that she had met with former “View” boss Barbara Walters over the weekend, and Walters said she was “toying with the idea of whether or not she should go back and save.

Chen noted, “The whole room said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Everyone told her, ‘Barbara, that ship has sailed. No one can turn it around. Stay away, it will only hurt your image.'”

“The View,” which has suffered from a revolving-door turnover of hosts in recent years, returned for its 19th season on Tuesday, with yet another revamped lineup that includes new additions Paula Faris and Candace Cameron Bure.
But if Walters is smart, Chen noted, she will keep herself out of the mix.

Out of common sense, she should stay away,” Chen said.
Chen went on to say that Walters would probably be open to appearing on “The Talk” as a guest, but the TV veteran is unable to do so because of her relationship with ABC, with whom she still appears on specials.
