Black Sabbath The End, Fans of Black Sabbath have reason to be paranoid: the iconic heavy metal band officially announced their farewell tour.
The Ozzy Osbourne-fronted group will launch their “The End” tour on January 20 in Omaha and finish their North American leg on February 25 with their final gig at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden.
From there, Black Sabbath will make their way to Australia and New Zealand for a leg that kicks off in April.
Osbourne, who will be joined on the tour by fellow original members, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, told Metal Hammer last September that the band was planning one last album and tour before hanging up their leather duds.“I said to (wife and manager) Sharon, ‘I ain't f----g 21 anymore. If we're going to do it, I want to do it before I'm 70,” Osbourne told the metal magazine at the time. “’Time isn't on our side.' So she made the call and came back and said, ‘Yeah, the record company wants another album.’”
It’s unclear who will be sitting behind the drum kit on the tour, since original drummer Bill Ward has been estranged from the band.
