Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Israel, According to Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Israel will be gone within 25 years. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed this Twitter rant by calling the Iranian leader a “tyrant” whose prediction will fall flat.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, last year Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used his annual pre-Mecca speech to insult Israel and call for its annihilation. He claimed that “contrary to the idiotic dreams of power and stability for this regime that the filthy officials of the Zionist regime dream, day-by-day this regime has moved closer to implosion and annihilation.” He also called for terror groups like Islamic Jihad and Hamas to “reinvigorate their endeavor, determination and resolve… Muslim nations should require their governments to lend real and serious support to Palestine.”
In 2015, Khamenei spoke up about the Iran nuclear deal and set a deadline for negotiations. Iran’s Supreme Leader also demanded the permanent lifting of economic sanctions, an idea which has many in Israel upset.
But what upset even more was Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s Israel prediction, which called for the nation to cease to exist within 25 years.
“After negotiations, in Zionist regime they said they had no more concern about Iran for next 25 years; I’d say: Firstly, you will not see 25 years. God willing, there will be nothing as Zionist regime by next 25 years. Secondly, until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionist,” Khamenei tweeted.
According to the Times Of Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was quick to respond to this idea.
“Khamenei is not giving supporters of the agreement any room for illusion. He has made it clear that the US is the Great Satan and that Iran intends to destroy the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said. “This will not happen. Israel is a strong country and it will become even stronger.”
Netanyahu said countries across the world must work together to fight against Iran’s “terrorism and aggression.”
“However, the conclusion that arises from the remarks of the tyrant in Tehran is that all responsible countries must cooperate in order to stop Iran’s terrorism and aggression which, to my regret, will only increase as a result of the agreement,” said Netanyahu.
In the United States, Congress only has a few more weeks before voting on the Iran nuclear deal. According to Breaking Israel News, there are enough votes in the Senate to prevent a Republican resolution from blocking the deal supported by U.S. President Barack Obama.
