Tila Tequila booted off ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ for past Hitler rant, Tila Tequila was the first celeb kicked off “Celebrity Big Brother” — but not by her fellow housemates.
The former MTV reality star was booted off the U.K. reality show because of her past remarks in support of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party.
On Friday, the show’s Twitter account announced that “due to reasons outside of Big Brother, earlier this evening Tila was removed from the house.”
Tequila was ousted after producers were made aware of her pro-Nazi social media posts because of a Change.org petition advocating for her removal from the show, according to E! Online.
In December 2013, she came under fire for posting — and later deleting — a Facebook photo of herself wearing a swastika arm band and Nazi uniform hat while holding a gun.
Tequila also expressed sympathy for Hitler in another post, calling him a “special and sweet kid” who had been “bullied.”Producers claimed they were unaware of her controversial statements prior to her joining the series.
"Unfortunately, Channel 5 and (production company) Endemol did not know about the views and attitudes Tila had expressed in social media postings prior to her involvement in 'Celebrity Big Brother,'" a rep for Channel 5 said in a statement to E! News on Saturday.
"When they were brought to our attention, she was called to the Diary Room for a discussion with producers and was subsequently removed from the house," the statement continued.
"The views Tila had expressed, and permitted to remain uncorrected, are totally unacceptable and, accordingly, her continued involvement in the program was untenable."
For her part, the 33-year-old offered an apology for her past inflammatory comments.Back in 2013 I made a statement about Hitler not being a bad person, and immediately realized soon after that I had made a terrible mistake that would ultimately come back to haunt me," she said in a statement posted to Twitter.
"It was absolutely the lowest point I had ever reached in my life, and today I am truly sorry to everyone that I may have hurt along my self-destructive path."
Tequila’s past remarks didn’t just cost her another chance for reality stardom: TMZ reports she will not get paid the $175,000 appearance fee from the show.
