Swedish Teen Model Blasts the Fashion Industry For Labeling Her 'Too Big', A striking Swedish model has blasted the fashion industry after she was told she's “too big” for the catwalk.
Agnes Hedengård, 19, says she is struggling to find work because the “absurd” industry says she’s overweight.
In an online video that has gone viral, the blond model poses in a bright bikini and says she has worked as a model for five years.
But, showing off her svelte figure, she claims clients now think her butt is “too big” and her hips are “too wide," reported the Daily Mirror.
“According to the model industry, you cannot look like this. You need to be thinner," she says in the video.
The teen claims potential clients are no longer interested when they discover her body measurements.Gesturing toward her slender stomach and waistline, she adds, "They think this is too big. You should not look like this.”
Her YouTube video has proved an online hit, with almost 500,000 views in the last two days.
The model also reveals that her body mass index (BMI) is actually 17.5, while the ideal BMI for an adult lies between 18.5 and 24.9.
Hedengård says she posted the video to highlight how warped the modeling industry can be.
"Love yourself, don't let anyone tell you any different," she says.
