Steve Sarkisian apologizes for drunken behavior at USC booster event, USC football coach Steve Sarkisian turned it up on Saturday night.

He shouldn’t have.

The Trojans coach has apologized for his behavior at his team’s preseason kickoff event. According to a report, Sarkisian dropped a couple F-bombs and was slurring his words before getting pulled off stage by athletic director Pat Haden and John McKay Jr., the son of former USC star John McKay.

Sarkisian released an official apology Sunday afternoon, along with a statement by Haden.

“I sincerely apologize to my players and staff and to our fans for my behavior and my inappropriate language at our kickoff event Saturday night," Sarkisian said. "I have a responsibility to all of them and I let them down.  Pat Haden talked to me after the event about my actions and I assured him this will not happen again.”

Haden said he was disappointed in the coach.

“I met with Coach Sarkisian and I expressed my disappointment in the way he represented himself and the University at our Salute To Troy event," Haden wrote. "While the details of our conversation will remain between us, I am confident he heard my message loud and clear.”

Keep the turning it up to the practice field and the sideline, coach.

USC opens its season Sept. 5 against Arkansas State.
