See Foo Fighters Rickroll Westboro Baptist Church protesters, Remember when you used to prank your friends and colleagues by getting them to accidentally hear Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up?

Good news: The so-called Rickroll is still alive and well. Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters performed an in-person version of the joke Friday by blasting the 1980s song at Westboro Baptist Church protesters from a truck outside of Sprint Center in Missouri.

The Topeka, Kansas, church, established in 1955, is most known for hate speech against LGBT people, Jews and politicians. The band held up signs "YOU GOT RICK ROLL'D (AGAIN)" and "KEEP IT CLEAN" before they performed at the venue.

According to Billboard.com, the song's video has been used as an Internet meme since 2007. "Rickrolling" happens when someone gives a hyperlink that is unrelated to the song but leads the user to Astley's video. It has also been used in live situations, as evidenced by Grohl.

This isn't the first confrontation between the band and Westboro Baptist Church. Back in 2011, the Foo Fighters uploaded a video of members on a flatbed truck, belting out a country song with lyrics "I'm in the mood for hot man muffins." On August 30, 2011, the Westboro Baptist Church picketed a Foo Fighters show in Kansas City.

During the performance, Grohl said, "God bless America It takes all kinds. I don't care if you're black or white or purple or green, whether you're Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum, men loving women and women loving men and men loving men and women loving women--you all know we like to watch that. But what I'd like to say is, God bess America, y'all!"
