Michigan Highway Sniper, A possible Michigan highway sniper has been targeting cars passing on freeways in southern Michigan, police said. At least a half-dozen drivers have stepped forward to say they have been targeted by the alleged shooter or shooters. No one has been reported as injured.Writes CNN on August 29: “Several motorists driving on I-94 and I-69, notified law enforcement that their vehicles sustained damage from some type of projectile, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office said.”
The incident reports date back to July 29, with the most recent complaint filed by a driver on August 21. Tests on at least one of the vehicles have confirmed that a bullet made the damage. Forensics is attempting to provide additional details regarding the shootings, but investigators said holes in the other cars appear to be consistent with damage caused by a firearm.
Calhoun County Sheriff Matt Saxton said the vehicles were targeted on Interstate 94 near 11 Mile Road and on Interstate 69 between Jonesville Road and the M-60 trunkline highway in Branch County. “If you regularly drive those routes, you may want to inspect your car for damage,” Saxton said, adding that the possible shooter is hitting the cars during daylight hours.
