Joy Behar Can't Wait to Take on Donald Trump, the Duggars on 'The View', Joy Behar is returning to "The View." The 72-year old comedian left the ABC morning talk show two years ago. Behar was one of the original co-hosts of "The View" when it first aired in 1997. She stayed longer than any of the other co-hosts. She left in 2013 after 16 seasons to pursue other professional opportunities, which included starring in her own one-woman show. Behar is returning next month, according to ABC on Tuesday.
Behar says she doesn’t want to miss out on all the fun. She said she spent two years where she didn’t ever have to think about Kim Kardashian or the Duggars and it was really kind of nice. She told "Good Morning America" via telephone on Wednesday that now she wants to get back so she can talk about the Duggars and Donald Trump. She said, “I want to stick my two-cents in. That’s my main goal in life."
When "The View" returns on Sept. 8 for its 19th season, the new co-hosts will be Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris. They will join the current panel of Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins. The show will have appearances by regular contributors including former co-host Sherri Shepherd, Padma Lakshmi, Stacy London, Ana Navarro and Molly Sims. The View" will be live five days a week instead of its usual taped show on Fridays.
MSN reports that Behar coming back to "The View" is part of a massive overhaul of the show’s hosting team. Behar’s return is said to have come from a strong request from creator and executive producer Barbara Walters who retired in 2014. The past season has been full of behind the scenes drama as the show attempted to get higher ratings. Walters is said to have been quite concerned about the non-stop drama surrounding the show this season. She approves of Joy Behar's return as well as the other co-hosts. Walters stated, “As ‘The View’ embarks on a remarkable 19th season, I am extremely proud to see the legacy of smart and diverse women engaging in entertaining and thought-provoking conversation continue."
