Jessica Lange on ‘American Horror Story’: She’ll be back!

Jessica Lange on ‘American Horror Story’: She’ll be back!, Jessica Lange may not be done with “American Horror Story.” The Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress, who has played four creepy characters on the FX horror anthology, may have previously stated that her turn as circus freak show hostess Elsa Mars was her last go around on the series, but executive producer Ryan Murphy begs to differ. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly posted on Aug. 27, Murphy admitted he’s been talking to Lange about a possible return.

Murphy revealed that it’s “always possible” that Jessica Lange could make a return cameo to “American Horror Story.” If he can come up with the right character for her, that is. “She’ll be back—she’s not gone forever,” Murphy said. “But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something.”

While Jessica Lange could return to “American Horror Story,” it may not be in time for the upcoming season “AHS: Hotel.” The actress is already scheduled to star in the movie “Wild Oats” this fall and she’ll appear on Broadway for a 2016 revival of “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.” But Murphy did dish that he’s trying to work with Lange’s play schedule, so he could have something brewing. “Hotel” is set in Los Angeles five years after the first “AHS” season, “Murder House,” took place. Lange played villainous Constance Langdon in the inaugural season of the “AHS” franchise.

Earlier this year, Jessica, Lange told Deadline she was done with “American Horror Story.” She explained that she originally only agreed to do the show for one season, but she had so much fun doing it she stayed on for season 2—and more. “I have no regrets or second thoughts about that decision,” she said of her four-season run on the franchise. “But there’s always an end to everything.” Unless there’s not.
