Facebook 1 Billion Users, It's Facebook's world, we're just living in it.
Mark Zuckerberg, the iconic founder of the massive social network, announced in a status update Thursday that 1 billion people used Facebook on Monday. As he put it, one in seven people across the entire planet interacted with the platform in some form on that day.
"This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it's just the beginning of connecting the whole world," Zuckerberg wrote.
Putting it another way, one person used Facebook for every four dollars the company made last quarter.
All told, Facebook actually has 1.49 billion monthly users, which is, as we've noted before, more people than live in China.
"Thank you for being part of our community and for everything you've done to help us reach this milestone," Zuckerberg wrote. At press time, 33,307 people had liked his post.
