Tottenham, NFL in 10-year deal for London games

Tottenham, NFL in 10-year deal for London games, Tottenham Hotspur and the NFL reported a 10-year partnership on Wednesday that will see Spurs host no less than two yearly games at their new London stadium, set to open in 2018.

The new ground will have a manufactured turf installed underneath a retractable grass field, making it easier to schedule matches, while facilities will be installed to suit both sports.

Commissioner Roger Goodell reported the news by means of the NFL's official website, saying:

With developing enthusiasm for the NFL in the United Kingdom, we are focused on hosting NFL games in world-class venues and are eager to band together with Tottenham Hotspur to play games at their future stadium. We share a vision and commitment to making the best experience for our teams, fans and the nearby group.

Tottenham administrator Daniel Levy also commented on the news, by means of the club's official Twitter account:The NFL has been playing general matches in London for several years and seeks to extend further into the British market, yet playing more fixtures at Wembley Stadium would not have been a choice. Last year, England supervisor Roy Hodgson expressed his frustration with the English Football Association, as the large number of matches left the Wembley contribute poor condition.

As the Guardian's Daniel Taylor reported, he said:

I am a football mentor, a football chief, and I am discussing English football, not American football. I don't generally think you could anticipate that me will say: 'Amazing, charmed, well done.' I'm realistic, I'm down to business and this match [on Sunday] has been sorted out for a time of time. The pitch, lamentably, is not in the best of scratch in any case, which we're every one of the a touch despondent with.

Such an issue would not happen at the new Spurs ground, on the other hand, where the retractable grass field can simply be evacuated when the NFL comes to town.

The Telegraph's Jeremy Wilson shared some more details on the financing of the new stadium, with one interesting name without a doubt stealing the headlines:

Spurs are at present seeking financing for their £400 million stadium extend and have been gaining positive ground, in spite of the fact that negotiations over naming rights are liable to be discriminating.

Various banks and investment funds are taking a gander at the possibility of getting to be included and there have been rumors, both in the city and the United States, that Mark Zuckerberg, administrator and CEO of Facebook, could be included with a gathering of Californian investors. Spurs have stressed that they are not in takeover talks with anybody.

The new stadium would give the NFL the chance to grow the ebb and flow schedule, which features two overseas matches consistently, and would make it easier to start discussions in regards to the movement of a franchise to England's capital. If the new grounds highlight full facilities for both sports, it makes a lot of sense not to at any rate consider the possibility. The previous matches at Wembley Stadium were a rousing success with the fans, and as of right now, its not impossible to accept a changeless franchise in London could work
