Grizzly Bear Smashes Glass Window at Minnesota Zoo, Bear-confirmation glass was put under serious scrutiny Monday at the Minnesota Zoo.

It fizzled.

One of the five layers of glass at the wild bear show at the zoo in Apple Valley, Minnesota, broke yesterday morning when a bear crushed it with a stone, an authority told ABC News today.One of the bears had a stone about the extent of a ball and figured out how to break one of the windows," the zoo's executive of creature accumulations Tony Fisher said.

"At no time was there any peril of the bears getting out since there were still four layers of glass, however we're not going to trust it," he included.

The display — home to three grizzlies that were stranded in Alaska — is incidentally shut until the zoo can put another bear-verification boundary before the broken board.

Fisher said there's no real way to know without a doubt which bear broke the boundary.

"We thought we had every one of the stones out of their display however one of them uncovered it some place," Fisher said.

The zoo arrangements to custom-arrange a substitution glass piece, which could take up to a few weeks, as per Fisher.
