Woman removes Confederate flag in front of SC statehouse

Woman removes Confederate flag in front of SC statehouse, The Confederate banner has been briefly expelled from before the South Carolina Statehouse.

A unidentified dark lady was about most of the way up the more than 30-foot steel flagpole soon after sunrise Saturday when State Capitol police advised her to descend. Rather, she proceeded up and evacuated the banner before coming back to the ground.

The lady and another man who had entered the created iron wall encompassing the banner were captured.

The banner, which is secured by state law, was raised again a brief while later. A rally by banner supporters was planned for later Saturday.

Calls for uprooting the banner have been recharged since nine dark churchgoers were executed in what police described as a supremacist assault at a Charleston, South Carolina church a week ago.
