White House fence jumper gets 17 months, An Army veteran who got over the White House wall and inside the official chateau before being halted has been sentenced to 17 months.

This 2009 shows Omar Gonzalez, who powers have recognized as the man who got into the White House in the wake of scaling a wall on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.

Judge Rosemary M. Collyer sentenced Omar Gonzalez on Tuesday in government court in Washington. Collyer prescribed that he be exchanged to a jail in California, where his dad lives, before discharge. Prosecutors asked that Gonzalez put in about two years in jail, yet Gonzalez's attorney contended that he merits tolerance on account of his Army administration.

Gonzalez has been in prison for almost nine months since his capture last September. His lawyer and government attorneys have said he has a past filled with emotional wellness issues.Gonzalez's capture was one of a few Secret Service security ruptures that eventually prompted Julia Pierson's renunciation as executive of the office.
