Patrick Stewart defends bakers who refused to make pro-gay cake: ‘I support their right to say no’, Patrick Stewart was discussing human rights Thursday on BBC's Newsnight, when he made a fascinating disclosure.

The columnist requesting that he say something regarding a situation where the Irish proprietors of a pastry shop declined to prepare a cake that said "Bolster Gay Marriage" on it, with a photo of Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie. They were discovered blameworthy of segregation and fined about $760.

"I discovered myself as an afterthought of the dough punchers," said Stewart.

"It was not on the grounds that this was a gay couple that they questioned, it was not on account of they would be commending a marriage or an understanding between them," the performer proceeded. "It was the real words on the cake they questioned. Since they discover the words hostile."

He included, "I would bolster their rights to say no, this is actually hostile to my convictions, I won't do it."

The MacArthur family, who claims Ashers Bakery in Northern Ireland, are engaging the blameworthy decision.
