Panthers owner donating $100,000 to families of Charleston murder victims

Carolina Panthers proprietor Jerry Richardson was so moved by the disaster that struck Charleston that he's chose to give $100,000 to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund to help each of the families who lost a friend or family member amid Wednesday night's horrendous killings.

The Mother Emanuel Hope Fund was situated up by the city of Charleston to "give direct monetary backing to the memorial service and internment costs of the nine casualties."

Richardson's gift was made open on Saturday when Bakari Sellers, a Democratic individual from the South Carolina House of Representative, tweeted out a photo of the letter that Richardson wrote.In honor of Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, Cynthia Hurd, Susie Jackson, Ethel Lance, DePayne Middleton-Doctor, The Reverend Clementa Pinckney, Tywanza Sanders, The Reverend Daniel L. Simmons Sr., and Myra Thompson, please acknowledge the encased check from the Carolina Panthers in the measure of $100,000 to give $10,000 per family to help settle burial service costs and other monetary needs of each, and $10,000 for the congregation as a dedication regarding the casualties.

As the letter notes, $10,000 of the gift will go to the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where the killings occurred.

"We would prefer not to remark on the specifics of the gift, yet know our hearts are unified with the individuals who lament the loss of these people," a Panthers representative told the Charlotte Observer.

The silly killings struck up close and personal in the NFL. Boss security Sanders Commings was identified with Reverend Clementa Pinckney, one of the casualties.
