Johnny Manziel involved in incident with overzealous fan, No charges were documented and Irving Police say a Saturday episode at the AT&T Byron Nelson golf competition including Johnny Manziel was a "bundle of nothing."
As per police, a 18-year-old signature seeker may have baited Manziel, a previous star at Texas A&M, for a few hours. The outcome was a dust up at the pool of the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas, site of the current week's stop on the PGA Tour.
"The main criminal offense that happened was some person that was in Johnny's gathering pushed the 18 year old. It was not Johnny, that is falsehood that is out there, and (the 18 year old) would not like to squeeze charges," said James McLellan, open data officer for the Irving Police Department. "It was a group of nothing."
There were no captures and no police report was taken.
"We place everyone in an auto administration and they exited and went their own particular manner," McLellan said. "In this sort of circumstance, if nothing genuine has happened, we attempt to split everyone up and get them on their way.
"Johnny tossed a water bottle toward this young fellow. It didn't hit him; it hit a divider behind him. There is a quote online that said the 18-yearold said, 'Pleasant toss.' I imagine that sort of heightened things further. By then, the companion pushed the 18 year old."
McLellan wasn't certain if the gathering had been on the green preceding the occurrence at the pool.
"As indicated by Johnny, this individual had been requesting around two hours for his signature and Johnny was declining to give him his signature," McLellan said. "I don't know whether that simply raised more and it transformed into annoying on his part or pestering, however that would be sensible."
Manziel, 22, was a first-round pick of the Browns in 2014.
After a tumultuous new kid on the block crusade that saw Manziel complete 18 passes, one partner named him "a 100-percent joke." He left a recovery office a month ago. Only preceding his discharge, he made a stop to play golf with his family in Shreveport on Easter weekend.
