Bo Ryan Retiring

Bo Ryan Retiring, Wisconsin men's ball mentor Bo Ryan truly viewed as resigning after his group's national title diversion appearance in April. In any case, after discussions with athletic executive Barry Alvarez, he chose to take sooner or later and think it over.

"I have done that," Ryan, 67, said in an announcement discharged Monday. "I considered resigning this mid year or training one more season. ... I've chosen to mentor one more season with the trust that my long-term colleague Greg Gard inevitably turns into the head mentor at Wisconsin. I am anticipating one more year with our project, including our players, my dynamite associate mentors, our office staff and everybody who underpins Wisconsin b-ball here in Madison, around the state and the nation over."

Ryan's Badgers missed the mark against Duke in an exciting NCAA title diversion, the first Ryan had honed in at the Division I level. He's had a momentous profession at Wisconsin, driving the Badgers to consecutive Final Four appearances in the most recent two years and four Big Ten general season titles through the span of his 14 seasons in Madison (357-125, .741 triumphant rate). He is a four-time Big Ten mentor of the year, and he came to the NCAA competition each and every season he's been at Wisconsin.

Preceding guiding at Wisconsin, Ryan exceeded expectations at Whitewater-Platteville, driving the project to four Division III national titles.
