On Sunday evening, chairman Matt Doherty shut off the town's essential street, Route 35, just permitting the town's legitimate inhabitants to enter with fitting ID. Every single other peopl were dismissed.
"Tragically, we're not ready to acknowledge any more guests," he said, including that the choice was made to secure people in general after he identifies with the police.

"Belmar has come to it limit and we are closing down all movement into town from Route 35 taking effect right now," he tweeted at 3:04 p.m.
