Authorities: Country singer Randy Howard killed in shootout with bounty hunter, Down home music vocalist Randy Howard has been murdered in a shootout at his home with an abundance seeker attempting to keep him on a DUI charge, powers said.

A few media outlets report the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the Tuesday night shooting of 65-year-old Randy Howard in Lynchburg. Media report Howard has performed with blue grass music stars Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was investigating the circumstances of Tuesday night's shooting of 65-year-old Randy Howard, organization representative Josh DeVine said in an email.

Howard was an individual from down home music's "Bandit" development, which rejected Nashville's cleaned music for a rougher sound. Howard imparted the stage to Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr., and has composed tunes for Hank Williams III, as per Howard's LinkedIn site.

Hank Williams III posted a photo on his Facebook page Thursday of him and Howard grinning together under the words, "Tear Randy Howard."
