Toys R Us says it will close FAO Schwarz store in July, Toys R Us is shutting its notable FAO Schwarz store, refering to the high and increasing expenses of running the retail space on New York City's pricey Fifth Avenue.
The organization said Friday it will close the 45,000-square-foot store July 15 and it is searching for another area in midtown Manhattan. FAO Schwarz says it is the most established toy store in the U.S., as it has had an area in New York City since 1870. It moved to its present Fifth Avenue area in 1986.
The area highlights a treat store, various strength toy offices spread over three levels, and individual customers. It has been highlighted in a few motion pictures, including "Huge," where Tom Hanks moved on its vast floor piano.
Toys R Us, of Wayne, New Jersey, has been secretly held subsequent to 2005. It purchased the FAO Schwarz mark in 2009.
