Sharon Osbourne Collapses, Sharon Osbourne collapsed at her Los Angeles home on Friday, prompting the busy TV host and music manager to take some serious time off from work. Osbourne collapsed from exhaustion following a grueling work schedule that had her traveling to both New York and Toronto last week, according to Us Weekly on Saturday.
A rep for Osbourne said “The Talk” co-host collapsed from mental and physical fatigue and that she is suffering from “extreme exhaustion.” Osbourne was recently hospitalized for pneumonia and didn’t take enough time off to recover before returning to the daily daytime talk show.Osbourne, who has been a key co-host on “The Talk” since 2010, will now take a one-month hiatus from the CBS daily chat fest. Fellow co-hosts Sara Gilbert, Aisha Tyler, Sheryl Underwood and Julie Chen will be joined by a rotating series of guest co-hosts during Osbourne’s absence.
Osbourne, who previously battled cancer and had a double mastectomy, has had a year full of medical issues. The 62-year-old wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne had hernia surgery in March right and had just returned to “The Talk” before she then caught pneumonia, according to Entertainment Tonight. Her daughter Kelly Osbourne took her seat at “The Talk” table during her absence after the surgery. While Kelly hasn’t been announced as replacement host for her mother’s upcoming hiatus, she is a frequent fill-in host, as is singer Carnie Wilson, so it’s very likely she will turn up at the table at some point.
Following next week’s pre-taped episodes of “The Talk,” the remaining four co-hosts will update viewers on Osbourne’s condition when new live episodes air starting in June. Sharon Osbourne hasn’t addressed her collapse or her leave of absence on social media yet, and so far her family members have remained mum about the incident. But in a statement to the media, a spokesperson for Osbourne said she thanked producers of “The Talk” for granting her extended time off to take care of her health issues. “The Talk” airs weekdays on CBS.
