Rio Rancho police officer, Rio Rancho police said 49-year-old Officer Gregg Benner was shot and killed amid an activity stop Monday night.Benner was a four-year veteran of the office and was a resigned Air Force veteran. He is made due by his wife and five grown-up youngsters.

Police said Benner made a movement stop close Southern Boulevard and Pinetree Road around 8 p.m. As indicated by police, Andrew Romero, 28, and a lady were in the auto. There was a dynamic warrant for Romero's capture.

The auto took off after police said Romero gave Benner clashing data. Benner ceased the vehicle again and that is when Rio Rancho police said Romero shot the officer.

Inside of minutes, natives, paramedics and kindred officers were there to offer guide to Benner. He was hurried to University of New Mexico Hospital where he was later maintained dead.

After the shooting, police said the lady in the auto stayed behind, yet Romero took off. Police said they made up for lost time with Romero a brief while later after he conferred a burglary in Albuquerque.
