Oklahoma man shot, killed by police after fight over rescue, An Oklahoma state trooper lethally shot a man who was included in a battle with two troopers why should attempting salvage him and another man from floodwaters, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Saturday.

The troopers reacted to a report of a stranded vehicle in Okmulgee County, around 20 miles south of Tulsa, around 9:30 p.m. Friday. They discovered two men attempting to expel a vehicle from a roadway over which water was rising and moving rapidly, as indicated by Capt. Paul Timmons."They were attempting to get them to leave the water. They were stressed over them escaping," Timmons said. "(The men), for reasons unknown, were just truly disturb about needing to leave the vehicle there."

No less than one man assaulted a trooper subsequent to coming to dry land and was shot and murdered. It wasn't quickly known what number of shots were discharged or whether one or both troopers shot.

Timmons said a weapon was recouped from one of the suspects, however it wasn't promptly known which man had the weapon or whether shots were shot at the troopers.

The second man was captured for strike and open inebriation, Timmons said. No names have been discharged.

Neither one of the troopers was harmed. Furthermore, neither had been put on leave as of Saturday evening.

"That has been the act of the office when something to that effect happens. I can say its likely a matter of time," before the troopers are set on leave, Timmons said.
