Insignificant Officer 2nd Class Nate Littlejohn told The Associated Press that the young lady suffocated Sunday evening on board the Norwegian Gem while it was in Atlantic waters about 75 miles east of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The journey line affirmed the demise of a 10-year-old young lady in an announcement.
"We are to a great degree disheartened to have discovered that a visitor passed away on Sunday on board the Norwegian Gem," said the announcement messaged by Vanessa Picariello, a representative for Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Lines.
"On Sunday evening, the ship's medicinal group reacted to a crisis call from the pool deck, as a ten-year-old female visitor was accounted for inert. The group immediately regulated CPR and full crisis care. After broad endeavors, the visitor couldn't be resuscitated," the announcement said.
It didn't expand on what happened.
"We extend our most profound sensitivities to the family amid this exceptionally troublesome time. Norwegian's consideration group is giving full help and backing to the family," the announcement included.
Picariello said the Norwegian Gem had left New York on Saturday on a planned seven-day journey to Florida and the Bahamas.
