Matthew Makela Resigns

Matthew Makela Resigns, As an anti-gay pastor resigns from his position at St. John’s Lutheran Church, it has become apparent that ex-Pastor Matthew Makela not only lived a double life, he also left writings that indicate he believes he is “addicted” to homosexuality.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, Pastor Daniel Kempin of St John’s Lutheran Church informed the congregation about the anti-gay pastor’s resignation with an open letter.

“Pastor has acknowledged that there was sin and repentance, and I have testified that there is indeed forgiveness through the same Lord who forgives all our sins. Nevertheless, it is an end of our time together in ministry, and we ask for your continued prayers and support for the Makela family. I write this to you to warn you that you may be confronted with the details of the sin, and to remind you that sin is never pretty,” the letter read. “Be very careful, then, how you live, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. See you in Church.”

In the past, most of Matthew Makela’s public statements condemned the gay community. He compared homosexuality to alcoholism and in March of 2015 he started on his Facebook account that “the transgender movement is going to assist opportunistic sickos in preying upon children and others.” As another example, in September of 2014 Makela wrote about gay marriage in relation to cultural issues.

“Long before gay marriage was part of our national discussion, natural marriage did not always reflect Gold’s will of love and submission. Divorce became common, love in marriage grew cold, and children were not always seen as a blessing. Changing the culture begins with changing our own culture of marriage and family, taking the marriage union with the utmost seriousness and welcoming children in our churches.”

The story painted by Makela’s Grindr profile painted a completely different picture. It said he “enjoys nude make out sessions, oral sex, massage, and even cuddling with other men.” After the anti-gay pastor resigns, he also wrote his true beliefs in the comments of the Midlands Daily News story, where he basically stated that he thinks it is possible to become addicted to homosexuality.

“I love people who have same sex attraction, and so does God,” Makela wrote. “The proof is in the sacrifice He made for all of us who sin… We don’t tell a person born with tendencies to abuse alcohol to keep on giving in to his innate desires because he can’t help it. We try to help him in his struggle.”

The comment has since been deleted but it provides an insight into what Matthew Makela is thinking. Ever since the former anti-gay pastor resigned, he has not made any other public statements.
