Manhunt underway in Kansas after officer shot in head, Two individuals are in authority and a manhunt is in progress in southeastern Kansas for a third suspect after an Oklahoma cop was shot in the head amid an activity interest, police said.

South Coffeyville Police Chief Wade Lamb told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/1KBPuaZ ) that the occurrence started when an officer attempted to draw more than a SUV Thursday evening in Rogers County, Oklahoma, however the vehicle took off. The SUV possessed by three individuals traveled north, Lamb said.

As the three headed toward the Kansas outskirt, somebody discharged shots from the SUV at an Oologah police cruiser that was helping with the pursuit, striking an officer in the head, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Dwight Durant said.

The cruiser smashed in a trench, Durant said. The officer was carried to a Tulsa healing center. His condition wasn't discharged, however Durant told the daily paper the officer was wakeful when he was put into the therapeutic helicopter.

Powers say two of the vehicle's tenants were in the end taken into authority in South Coffeyville, only south of the Kansas fringe, after police utilized stop sticks. They were not promptly recognized.
