Firefighter is "smashed" in the wake of being declared guilty ambush, lawyer says,A Los Angeles city firefighter was indicted for ambushing a lady who was bolstering stray felines in his neighborhood.
Members of the jury indicted Ian Justin Eulian, 39, of one lawful offense check each of threatening behavior regarding the Sept. 14, 2013, occurrence, which was caught by reconnaissance cameras at an adjacent West Adams group focus.
"Ian is pounded by the decision," said his lawyer, Robert A. Schwartz, who promised to offer the jury's choice. "He's a kind, astute individual. He's done great all his life. He'd never been vicious."
In the feature, Eulian seems to punch the lady, haul her out of her Jeep and push her to the ground, where she lost cognizance. Eulian's mom at one point seems to slap the lady.
The episode started when Eulian, who was on holiday, drew closer the lady and shouted at her about sustaining the stray felines, prosecutors said. The lady hurled feline kibble at Eulian, who then started landing blows, prosecutors said. When the lady stirred, she told Eulian and his mom that she couldn't review what had happened, prosecutors said. The mother and child set her back into her Jeep, and Eulian's mom drove her home, prosecutors said.
Legal hearers thought for under two hours prior to conveying the blameworthy decision. A year ago, an alternate jury gridlocked about whether he was liable of threatening behavior.
Eulian's lawyer said the sharp difference between the two juries was unsettling.
"This was a joke. 60 minutes, truly, of consultations?" Schwartz said. "In the event that a jury does their occupation and they achieve a decision, I can live with that. Be that as it may, when they simply make a halfhearted effort, I do have an issue."
Eulian faces up to seven years in state jail and is planned to be sentenced in late June.
