The Pearl Jam vocalist collaborated with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra for a shaking version of the bunch's 1994 excellent "Better Man," paying respect to the resigning television show legend in front of his last show on Wednesday.Vedder, who tore on his hatchet so hard he snapped a string, has been a general visitor on the show — with and without his band — since 1992.
Letterman is so enamored with the Seattle rockers he greenlit their thought to hold a little show in the Ed Sullivan Theater in 2006, after they completed obligations as his music visitors.
The two have had a modest bunch of private trades, yet none more essential then when Vedder appeared unannounced in 1996 to settle a brilliant question in the middle of Letterman and Shaffer about how frequently he cried the melody for the tune "Dark."
