Boston Still Has Snow Piles _ and They're Filled With Trash, Waiting snow heaps from the record-setting New England winter keep on plagueing the Boston region, even as the climate turns summer-like.
A 75-foot-high snow hill in Boston's Seaport District has been diminished to a three-story heap of soil and rubbish — including bikes, movement cones and even a large portion of a $5 bill — that remaining parts encrusted in strong ice.
Division of Public Works Commissioner Michael Dennehy tells The Boston Globe (http://bit.ly/1Brmvyd) the disgusting heap is "a science test holding up to happen."
Groups have been laboring for six weeks to clean away the garbage as it breaks free from the hill. In this way, they have hauled out 85 tons of flotsam and jetsam.
Dennehy says the heap will be around for a considerable length of time, even as the air temperature hits
