Aaron Hernandez Allegedly Involved in Prison Fight, Law Enforcement Officials Say, Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, only a month into a lifelong incarceration on first degree homicide indictments, was in "a two-on-one battle" that sent him to an isolation unit at a Massachusetts jail, law implementation authorities affirmed to ABC News.
Hernandez was indicted a month ago in the homicide of his companion Odin Lloyd, whose shot perplexed body was discovered a mile from the manor Hernandez imparted to his life partner and little child girl.
Hernandez is currently serving existence without the likelihood of parole at the MCI-Shirley Souza-Baronowski Correctional Facility, which is the place he was sent to Special Management Unit on Monday night after he was purportedly included in an assault on another detainee, a few law implementation sources said."It was two-on-one, he was a piece of the two," said one jail official, who talked on the state of secrecy. A second source said the prisoner was beaten in his cell and that it showed up "pack related."
After the battle, jail authorities found that the previous NFL champion had been inked with another tattoo that references the Bloods pack, the sources said.
"The casualty in the battle was some total no one. He was simply attempting to demonstrate he's down with the Bloods, a terrified man taking a gander at life in jail," a source said.
"We can't remark on particular detainees," said Chris Fallon, a representative for the state's Department of Correction.
Hernandez's lawyers, James Sultan and Michael Fee, did not instantly return calls and messages looking for input.
Hernandez is currently slated to go on trial for the twofold homicide of two men who were given in a drive-by Boston prosecutors say was started by a spilled drink on a move floor at a mainstream dance club. A third man was injured in that July 2012 assault. Hernandez has argued not blameworthy and his legal advisors have said he will be vindicated.
