5 actors you didn't know are veterans, In honor of Memorial Day, The Hollywood Reporter highlights five veterans-turned-performers that featured in ventures including Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU).

Morgan Freeman

In 1955, Morgan enrolled in the United States Air Force in the wake of turning down a grant to Jackson State University. The on-screen character rose the positions to Airman 1st Class after almost four years in the administration before he cleared out the military to seek after an acting profession. He showed up on-screen without precedent for the 1964 TV arrangement Another World and took home the best supporting on-screen character Oscar in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby.

Quality Hackman

The Unforgiven Oscar victor joined the Marines at 16 years old and served for four and a half years. Ten years subsequent to leaving the military, the previous radio field administrator vet started to seek after an acting profession. In 1961, he initially showed up on-camera in Mad Dog Coll. Hackman won the best supporting performing artist Oscar in 1993 for Unforgiven.

Ice-T

Generally referred to for his part as officer Fin Tutuola on Law & Order: SVU, Ice-T (conceived Tracy Lauren Marrow) joined the U.S. Armed force and served four years in the 25th Infantry before leaving on respectable release. He began off a profession in execution as a DJ before seeking after acting in 1991 and arriving on SVU in 2000.

Toss Norris

Military craftsman and performing artist Norris joined the U.S. Aviation based armed forces in 1958 as a police pilot. He served in South Korea, where he initially learned hand to hand fighting, and came back to the U.S. to serve at March Air Force Base before he was released in 1962. His on-camera presentation came after six years when he showed up in The Wrecking Crew in 1968.

Clint Eastwood

Eastwood was drafted into the armed force in 1951 for the Korean War and served at California's Fort Ord as a swim teacher. Amid his time in administration, Eastwood was on a plane that slammed in Northern California's Point Reyes, constraining the lifeguard serviceman to swim to shore. His on-screen introduction came after four years when he showed up in Revenge of the Creature. Eastwood has won four Oscars for his role as an on-screen character and chief.
