A store manager at the California store believes Walmart is trying to get back at employees who led the protest for higher wages in 2012.
On Apr. 17, Before It's News cites various sources in its report on why Walmart closed its stores in California, Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma on Tuesday with without warning. It left 2,200 employees without work.
According to the report, some now believe the closures have to do with a large military exercise called "Jade Helm 15." As the report states, there was "no pre-announcement and the store shelves were fully stocked. They even had to discount frozen goods 50% to get rid of the stock. They have given all employees a 2 month severance pay."
Walmart supposedly has a contract with DHS to act as a command and logistics center for FEMA in case of a national emergency. The U.S. military has discreetly added more states to its eight-week Jade Helm joint training drill, according to the report. The drill was initially meant to take place in seven southwestern states and is slated to run from July 15 to September 15; Mississippi and Florida have been added to the list. Texas and Utah are singled out as "hostile territory."
