Lindsay’s stepmom Kate Major Lohan arrested for drunken assault on hubby Michael, Kate Major Lohan, wife of Michael Lohan and stepmother to Lindsay Lohan, was handcuffed and arrested by police in Boca Raton, Florida, on the evening of April 16 after hubby Michael called the cops to report that his drunken wife had assaulted him. TMZ reported on Friday that when police arrived on the scene they said that Kate “had an alcohol relapse and then drunkenly attacked” her husband Michael.
Lindsay’s dad told police that Kate had gone out to pick up dinner for the two but came back home drunk. The couple argued which eventually turned into a physical altercation according to Michael, who told police that he ended up with long scratches down his back. Michael wasn’t wearing a shirt during the lovers’ squabble.
The police report shared by TMZ stated that 32-year-old Kate was “visibly intoxicated and smelled of alcohol.” In the report, the police also said that she was exhibiting slurred speech, her face was flushed and red and her eyes appeared to be glossy and bloodshot.Kate tried to turn things around on her husband and told the arresting officers that Michael had grabbed her by the throat, although police couldn’t see any physical evidence of that claim. The arrest report shared by TMZ stated that after Kate claimed that Michael tried to choke her, she "scratched her [own] throat area in an attempt to create red marks."
The officers on the scene took Kate into custody and transported her to the Palm Beach County where she was booked on a battery charge. She was later released on her own recognizance.
In an interview with Us Weekly following her release on Friday, Kate said that she’s refocusing her efforts to stay sober and asked everyone to respect her family’s privacy at this time. Michael and Kate have two young children together, both boys, ages two years and three months. Kate has struggled with alcohol in the past.
