Garth Brooks honors military service members at ACM Awards, Garth Brooks took the stage at the 2015 ACM Awards on Sunday night to perform a powerful new song, “All-American Kid.”
The country icon pulled out all the stops, bringing the return of Garthmania to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with his usual blend of drama, passion and energy in performing the song, which appears on his most recent album, Man Against Machine.
The song was written by country singer Craig Campbell. “To have it on his album was a big deal, but now … I can’t even explain it,” Campbell tells Taste of Country.
Nancy O’Dell was on hand to present Brooks with the Milestone Award, which he earned for winning ACM Entertainer of the Year more times than anyone else in the history of the awards. She was joined by Taya Renae Kyle, the widow of Chris Kyle, whose life is the subject of "American Sniper."
Brooks was joined onstage by a number of active military service members.
