Dr. Oz Responds To Criticism, Celebrity doctor to respond to critics on during Thursday’s episode Dr. Mehmet Oz plans to respond to critical doctors on Thursday who have slammed his treatment prescriptions.
A group of doctors recently sent a letter to Columbia University’s medical school calling for Oz to lose his faculty position.
“He’s a fake and a quack and a charlatan,” Dr. Henry Miller, the Robert Wesson Fellow in scientific philosophy and public policy at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, wrote in the letter.

“I think I know the motivation at Columbia,” Miller also wrote. “They’re star-struck, and like having on their faculty the best-known doctor in the country. But the fact is that his advice endangers patients, and this doesn’t seem to faze them.”
The doctors take issue with Oz’s “quack treatments and cures in the interest of personal financial gain.”
Dr. Oz will open his show Thursday taking the criticism head on, the New York Times reported. He will question the authors of the letter and their credibility, many whom have ties to a group advocating genetically modified foods.
Oz has been on the receiving end of other criticisms over the last year. In June, a Senate panel probed him about advocacy for weight loss products, specifically supporting coffee bean extract as a good resource.
