Demi Moore penthouse, Demi Moore is looking for a decent proposal. The actress is selling her Central Park West penthouse for $75 million, a price that would shatter records in the building, according to a report.
Moore and her ex-husband Bruce Willis purchased the south tower penthouse at the iconic San Remo in 1990, along with a 2-bedroom lobby-level apartment, the New York Times reported.
"We looked at everything on the park, Fifth Avenue, Central Park South and Central Park West, and there was just nothing like it," Moore said in an email to the Times. "The location, architecture and history of the San Remo were on a completely different level."
The landmark building at 145-146 Central Park West has been home to celebrities like Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton and Steven Spielberg. Bono occupies the penthouse in the tower across from Moore's apartment.
Moore's home has been on the market for a year but was just listed publicly.
Adam Modlin, who is handling the listing, told the Times that he determined the price by looking at recent apartment purchases in the area.Compared with the other iconic private perches on the perimeter of Central Park, there just isn't anything quite like this penthouse," he said. "It is the grandest residence in the south tower, the one that sits above all the others, a mansion in the clouds, and it is the largest intact park-facing residence at the San Remo with private outdoor space."
The whopping asking price does not include monthly maintenance costs — $17,912.85. The maisonette included in the deal has a $3,273 monthly maintenance charge.
The most expensive San Remo apartment went for $26.4 million last year — about a third of Moore's asking price.
Moore has not occupied the 14-room co-op with large windows and wraparound terraces in several years, she said.
"I'm spending the majority of my time in my other homes, and this apartment is too magnificent not to be lived in full time," she said.
Willis clearly likes the location and has bounced between apartments on the same street, recently purchasing a $17 million apartment at 271 Central Park West.
